Working with ink and paper there is no second thought. Once the ink contacts the paper there is not turning back. Other than to start again new. It is not my habit to trace out in pencil the drawing beforehand. Would certainly reduce the idea or fear of mistake. This idea that there is a line or stroke that could be better than the one made. I am guilty of and must remind my self of it. Now this is not to say that all that created will be worth keeping but that can also be said of drawings with pencil in one hand and eraser in the other. You need to accept that your first choice or stroke is often your best and this is where you should start from. Some pieces start out of statement made but no scratches other statement, scratches and other just started with a stroke.
