In The Shadow Of Metaphor
In The Shadow Of Metaphor is my working title. The metaphor is how images are understood. It is malleable therefore its meaning easily manipulated. Meaning change but this differs from co-opting. Where love is what you feel for a new car or anger is when your sports team loses the game. This metaphorical confusion has spilled over to art. My work attempts to take images out of the momentary assigned meaning. To re-focus on the moment before conscious through. Where the viewer creates for themselves something new.
